Gaelic Cultural Experiences
We were very happy that our 14-day tour included an extended stay in this charming town. A vacation within the vacation seems to be a feature of Rick Steves' tours. In Scandinavia, it was Ærø Island. In Ireland, it is Dingle.
Benners Hotel on Main Street
Located in the center of town, our historic hotel dates back to the 1880's. We checked in for our stay and found ourselves within several blocks of Dingle's shops and many pubs. Midway through the tour, we were a bit knackered, as the Irish would say, and a wee slow down at Benners Hotel did not disappoint!

Public areas were filled with charming, period decor and cozy sitting areas. Mrs. Benners Bar was a favorite place to relax and have a simple meal.
An added bonus – the hotel provided laundry service!
Mrs. Benners Bar offered a relaxing place
to grab a late afternoon meal.
The magnificent bar at Benners
and a Dingle Gin Tonic!
Comfy sitting areas and historic photos added to the hotel's charm.
Let the Music and Fun Begin!
Three Nights – Four Concerts!
We finally got to experience the Irish music that we had yearned for when we signed up for the tour.
On our first night in Dingle, we met in the hotel dining room for another hearty three-course dinner.
After dinner, we were treated to a folk concert featuring local songwriter, Gerry O'Beirne, and flute player, Theresa Horgan. Their songs and stories included Irish folk tales, ballads and original songs by Gerry.
